UV light trapping moths at night

Night Wander

After dark · 1–2 hours

Creatures that rule the night

Guided by torchlight, we step into a world most people walk past without ever noticing, and meet its residents on their own terms. But this isn't a zoo. You'll be shown how to use sight, sound and stillness to find the nocturnal world yourself.

Regularly encountered across Sydney's nightlife: tawny frogmouths, owls, possums, gliding possums, kangaroos, wallabies, frogs, reptiles, turtles, bats, and insects like you've never seen. What you'll meet depends on where the wander runs. There will be things you didn't expect.

The goal isn't just a good night out. It's a shift — less fear of the misunderstood, a real relationship with the creatures of the dark, and a better instinct for the choices that protect them.
