Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

Hooked On Nature, operated by Tom Covell in New South Wales, respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit this website, make an enquiry or book an experience.

Who we are

Hooked On Nature is based at 88 Bulgamatta Road, Bilpin NSW 2758. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact Tom Covell at tom@hookedonnature.com.au or 0416 411 502.

Information we collect

We may collect your name, email address, phone number, requested experience, group size, preferred location and date, and anything you include in your message. If you proceed with a booking, we may also keep related correspondence and information reasonably needed to organise and provide the experience.

Our website host and security providers may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages, timestamps and security events. This website does not use advertising cookies or sell personal information.

Please do not send sensitive information, including health information, through the enquiry form unless it is reasonably necessary for your experience. Where practical, a parent or guardian should make enquiries concerning a child.

How and why we use information

We usually collect information directly from you. We use it to respond to enquiries, prepare and manage bookings, provide our services, communicate about an experience, maintain business records, protect and improve the website, and meet legal obligations. If we cannot collect the details marked as required, we may not be able to respond or arrange a booking.

We will only use personal information for direct marketing with your consent or where permitted by law. You can opt out at any time by contacting us.

Disclosure and service providers

We disclose personal information only where reasonably necessary for these purposes, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law. Recipients may include website hosting and security providers, form and email delivery providers, IT providers, professional advisers, insurers, and government or emergency authorities when required.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Enquiries may be delivered using Web3Forms or another secure webhook or email service configured by us. These providers process information under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Overseas processing

Cloudflare, Web3Forms and other technology providers may process or store information outside Australia, including in the countries where they or their infrastructure providers operate. Because cloud routing and infrastructure can change, it is not practicable to list every country. Where Australian privacy law applies, we take reasonable steps required by law before disclosing personal information overseas.

Security and retention

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including booking, insurance, accounting and legal requirements. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it, subject to lawful retention and backup processes.

Access and correction

You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading information be corrected. Contact us using the details above. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse a request where the law permits, in which case we will explain why where required.

Privacy complaints

Please email us with details of your concern. We will acknowledge and investigate it, and aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Applicable privacy laws

This policy is designed to reflect the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), where that Act applies to us. Some small businesses are exempt from that Act unless an exception applies. The Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) generally applies to NSW public sector agencies, not ordinary private businesses. The Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW) may apply if we collect health information in circumstances covered by that Act.

Other websites and changes

Links to social media and other websites are governed by those services' privacy practices. We may update this policy when our practices, providers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published here with its effective date.
